Located in a quiet residential area of Des Moines’ east side, Luther Park Community has been the choice of seniors for generations. Our team focus on providing quality health services while ensuring our residents feel safe, cared for, and valued. By offering independent and assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and long-term nursing care, Luther Park Community meets the varying needs of senior adults so they can feel confident in their future.
We provide a senior community where each person is empowered to thrive, cared for with excellence, treated with dignity, and embraced with Christian compassion.
To be a holistic, quality-driven senior community recognized as the leader in dementia care.
At Luther Park, our service to others is guided by our core values:
Compassion – We display Christian kindness and concern for others.

Quality – We strive to consistently achieve desired health outcomes while providing superior service.
Care – We actively watch and listen to understand and empathize with each person’s realities.
Luther Park Community is a not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Affiliation with Lutheran Churches
Luther Park Community grew out of an affiliation with the Lutheran church more than 100 years ago and Christian compassion remains an integral part of who we are today. We have an ongoing relationship with Lutheran congregations in central Iowa, whose members participate in the Luther Park Auxiliary, support fundraising initiatives, and assist in selecting the Board of Directors.
